How do I view student accommodations for my course in UVACanvas?
The Accommodations Details tool allows instructors to view student accommodations authorized by the Student Disability Access Center (SDAC) within UVACanvas.
The Accommodations Details tool will only display students with requested and approved accommodations. To view students in the tool, you will need permission to view their accommodations in the SDAC Faculty Portal (opens new window).
Note: During the 2026 Spring semester, the Accommodations Details tool is available for beta testing. If you would like to participate in beta testing, please contact the Learning Technology Services (LTS) team at [email protected]
Go to Accommodations Details.
Review the Accommodations Details table.
If there are student accommodations you have permission to view within the SDAC Faculty Portal (opens new window), they will appear in a data table. Here are some key ways to navigate the table:
- Set the number of student entries per page to 10, 25, 50, or 100.
- Search for a student's name or computing ID, a multiplier, or the date when their record was last updated.
- Select the Name, Computing ID, Multiplier/Tags, or Last Updated column header to sort the list of students by that column's data.
- View information on the number of entries currently displayed in the table, for example, "Showing 1 to 10 of 19 entries," and options to navigate to additional pages if there are multiple pages of entries.
- Select Download CSV if you would prefer to view and sort the table in a spreadsheet.
Warning: The information in the Accommodation Details table is sensitive information. If you choose to download a CSV file, please save the file in an appropriate location and delete it after use.
If you do not see data in the Accommodation Details table, there may not be accommodations that you can view. If you are aware of accommodations for students in this course that should be available to you, please contact SDAC for assistance.

View updates to student accommodations.
Students can request accommodations anytime throughout a semester. There are two ways to keep track of updates to student accommodations:
- Look for an exclamation mark (!) icon to the right of a student's name. This icon appears next to students who have had updates in the last 7 days.
- Review the Last Updated column for dates when the student's accommodations were last updated. Optional: Sort it from most recent to oldest to more easily see recent dates.
