How do I embed a playlist in a module or page?

If you created a playlist (opens new window) in your Canvas course site's Media Gallery, you can embed it in tools such as Modules, Assignments, and Discussions using the Rich Content Editor. You can also add a playlist to a module using the Add External Tool option. You can use the following links to skip to steps for the desired option:

Embed in a page.

Adding a page to a module and embedding a playlist in the page will allow you to add context around your file. This can improve accessibility by making it easier for students to understand how they are expected to interact with the content.

Go to the page where you will embed the media.

The Rich Content Editor is available on most pages in Canvas where text can be added. For example, you may use the editor to create a page in Modules, create or submit an assignment, or make a discussion post.

Pictured above is where an instructor can find the Edit button on a page to add a playlist to that page.

Position your cursor in the editor.

Tip: It is recommended to add some text in the editor above the media to give it context.
