How do I allow others to download my Media Gallery files?
By default, a file published in Media Gallery cannot be downloaded by anyone other than the file's owner or someone who has been given permission to edit the file.
You may edit a video or audio file you own or have permission to edit in My Media or Media Gallery to enable the option for others to download it.
This article includes steps to enable downloads for a file, use the Download option after enabling it, and disable downloads if the option is no longer needed.
Note:
- There is no option to enable downloads for image files.
- A video or audio file with downloads enabled cannot be downloaded from a page where it is embedded in a course. The file must be published in the course's Media Gallery for course participants to access the option to Download it.
Tips:
- You may download your own video files without enabling downloads for others by following the steps in How do I download a video from My Media? (opens new window).
