How do I add an external tool assignment in UVACanvas?

UVACanvas includes a number of external tool integrations to support specialized instructional and assessment needs. Many of these tools allow you to create graded assignments or assessments and have the grades sent automatically to the Canvas Gradebook.

Media Tools

You can create an assignment where students record, upload, and/or interact with media using My Media or Media Gallery (Kaltura), Panopto Video, or Studio. How you set up the assignment depends on whether students will be recording and/or uploading their own files or interacting with videos you make available to them.

Studio

Gradescope

H5P

iClicker Cloud

iRubric

You can find a guide to set up iRubric assignments within the tool as described below.

Add iRubric to your Course Navigation Menu.

Follow the steps in How do I manage Course Navigation links? (opens new window) to enable the iRubric tool.

Go to iRubric

Select iRubric from the Course Navigation Menu.

View the Canvas User's Guide.

To the right of User's Guides, select the Canvas button.

McGraw Hill Connect

In Modules, add a module.

Select Manage, then McGraw Hill Connect.

Pair your MH Connect course.
