How do I create playlists in Media Gallery?
Instructors and TAs can create playlists of video, audio, and image files to share with students in a course's Media Gallery or to embed in a course using the Canvas Rich Content Editor or Modules.

Tip: If you plan to embed playlists in a course and do not want students to access the playlists or files included in them via Media Gallery, you can follow the steps in How do I hide Media Gallery from students? (opens new window).
Go to Media Gallery.

Select Media Gallery from the Course Navigation Menu.
Note: To access the Media Gallery tool in a McIntire School of Commerce course site, select McIntire Kaltura from the Course Navigation Menu instead of Media Gallery.
Select Channel Actions, then Create channel playlist.

- Select the three bars (Channel Actions) menu.
- Select Create channel playlist.
Add playlist details.
- By default, the recording's Title will be "My Playlist" followed by a number. It is recommended that you edit the Title to describe its content.
- Add a Description or Tags for searching (optional).
Add items to the playlist.
- Use the Filter by media type drop-down menu to display items from My Media or the course's Media Gallery. By default, the drop-down displays content from My Media.
- Use the Search for Media text box to locate files by their title, a tag, or text in their captions.
- Add media to the playlist by selecting the Add (plus sign in a circle) button to the right of each item.
- When an item has been added to the playlist, the Add button will be replaced with a blue checkmark (Remove) button.
- As you add media to the playlist, the number of items included in the playlist will display in the top right corner, for example, 2 Items.
Note: When a file is added to the playlist, it is also published and made available to students in the Media tab of the course's Media Gallery.
Reorder the playlist.
- To reorder the playlist, select and hold the Move Position (two horizontal lines) icon to the left of a media file to drag and drop it into the desired position.
- Alternatively, you may use the more (three dots) menu to move an item Up or Down, or to the Bottom or Top of the playlist.
Remove media from the playlist.
- Select an item's blue checkmark (Remove) button to remove it from the playlist.
- Alternatively, you may use the more (three dots) menu to Remove an item from the playlist.
View the playlist in Media Gallery.

The Playlists tab in the course's Media Gallery will display all available playlists.
